Hedger/Trimmer Tool from Yardshark

 Graphics Artyardshark 625617-1

Yardshark tools are made from high-carbon Japanese steel, double-tempered using a pressed steel technology that creates a super-sharp blade that stays sharp longer. The oval handles are aluminum and have a soft elastomer grip for comfort. (Frankly, I don't know what that is but it sounds nice.) This particular tool has a flip-lock mechanism that allows it to extend from 31 to 46 inches so it can be used for hedge trimming, pruning high tree branches up to 3/8", and for trimming the inside of thorny bushes and other tasks. Along with a hand pruner and tree saw, it would make a versatile set of handy tools.

Fulcrum Weeder

Knifefiles Corona Pruners Gardening Tools Corona Weeder Stainless Steel Weeder Fulcrum Ht 65100
Corona's fulcrum weeder priced at $7.93 enables serious weeding with the flick of a wrist. The tines pierce the soil to the roots of the weed, and then when the handle is pushed down, the weed pops out. Great for any gardener, especially one with diminished hand strength.

The Ursa Field Wagon

 Images Pdt Fieldwagon4S 500
The Ursa wagon is a combination utility wagon, garden cart, dump wagon, manure wagon, hay soaker, wheel barrow and atv trailer. It handles easily due to lightweight construction, and the wheels "turn on a dime." The watertight bed is a removable cargo sled that can be used on ice and snow. At $399 +s/h it better be revolutionary as claimed, but you can try one out for 60 days at no cost. There is also an online video demonstration.

Wearable Garden Stool

A seat strapped to the derriere that balances on a pole with a spring at the bottom describes this very interesting product originally developed for the agricultural industry. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the picture to load, but check out the link for a most unusual gift for your low-energy or high productivity gardener. Well worth seeing! $48.95 from Clean Air Gardening.

Indoor-Outdoor Sweeper

 Images Products 70074 400
Your perfect indoor-outdoor sweeper. We made this picture outrageously large so you could see the happy smile on this woman's face. Is she happy with the product or happy to be out cleaning up? (Is this a shameless example of reverse sexism, violating the law of division of labor wherein the man does the outdoor cleanup and the woman does the indoor work?) Whatever it is, we are delighted to announce the inevitable technological successor to the venerable broom. Why sweep when you can...er, sweep with a sweeper. But who am I to say this seems to be a superfluous product that will be used once and then take up precious room in your overfull garage until you finally put it out in the yard sale? At $149.95 it might be a bargain for the woman who has everything and loves pushing a sweeper as opposed to...Oh, nevermind.

Leaf and Log Cart

Plow Assets Images Shop Catalog 10161E

This looks like a super product because it converts to a fall clean-up helper by installing a durable nylon lawn and leaf bag that would be useful for year-round yard work. The narrow width is great for bringing wood indoors and the 20" tires roll over rough outdoor terrain and stairs. It folds flat for storage. Price around $115; leaf bag is extra.

Leaf Blowers Easy on the Ears

 Graphics Blowers Br500

In response to cries of outrage from aggravated homeowners everywhere, companies have developed quieter leafblowers for home and professional use. This is a Stihl 23-pound backpack blower that only reaches 65 decibels at 50 feet, about the same as a face-to-face conversation. See also models from Husqvarna and Deere. Prices range from about $220 to $500.
